Digitac can it be upgraded to P25.

Post by MOEtorola »

It is a simple question?
Can the Digitac Comparator be upgraded for IMBE P25.
I have astrotac rx'ers.

I assume that NO NO NO it cannot. Since is was for Securenet the digital format is totally different. Hopefully there are no hidden tricks to get it to pass P25, like one answer i got was,,, that (the digitac is transparent so it will pass digital.) I guess they thought i was talking about an MSF5000....LOL.

But I want to be sure while i am waiting for a call from BIG M.

Also if I use ASTROtac Comparator, I need 4 wire for the V.24 modems to talk right? I guess TYPE5 3202 with no less than 4db loss EtoE will work

Let the answers roll in.

Please a simple YES or No will sufice, Non of this,,,,if you add a DIU it will. LOLLOL

Thanks

No.

You need to use Astro Tac recievers to do IMBE.

He wasn't asking about the receivers, he was asking about the comparator.

The Digitac will be transparent for analog and analog digital encryption (DES, DES-XL, DVP... etc) it will not pass digital voice comms (IE: IMBE, VSELP, DSTAR... etc)

As for the 4wire, yes.
