XTS3000 Key-in function

Post by likimkim »

Dear all,

When I programme my XTS3000 and I saw that there is a part from the RSS showing "Direct Key-in frequency" (something like that). Is it really can do it? As I saw a XTS5000 which can directly key in frequency likes JT1000.
Thanks!

No. Direct Frequency Entry means you can set what the transmit frequency is when talkaround/direct is selected... rather than it defaulting to the repeater output.

Hello tcsir,

That means If I set my XTS3000 with the Direct Frequency Entry function, I am only can set the Tx and Rx in same frequency but cannot set the repeater frequency? XTS5000 also?

Thanks!!

When programming a conventional personality into the radio in CPS, there's the possibility to enter 3 frequencies/tones:
RX Frequency/Tone (where the radio always listens)
TX Frequency/Tone (where the radio transmits in normal mode)
TA Frequency/Tone (where the radio transmits in talkaround/direct)

USUALLY, the TA Frequency/Tone is the same as the RX Frequency/Tone. Thus, by unchecking the "Direct Frequency Entry" box, the TA frequency is copied from the RX frequency, saving the programmer a few steps when building a plug.

But I saw a XTS5000 which can key-in Tx and Rx frequencies via the key-pad likes JT1000. Can XTS3000 can do that?
Thanks~~~

Q52 Federal Government Front Panel Programming Enhancement.

No, the XTS3000 doesn't support FPP... and not many of the XTS5000s do either.
