P1225 Conversion?

Post by Rayjk110 »

Hello.

I have with me 2 P1225's.

One is a VHF With Display/Keypad, (not LS model), and one is a UHF regular radio, no keypad/display (ala model 1)

Both are 16chs.

Is it possible to swap housings so that the UHF radio is the one with the display and keypad? I could use those features more on UHF than VHF.

Thanks for any help as always.

OK, so I swapped out housings, and all it will display is SCAN when Scanning, and the Channel Number (IE CH 1)

BUT, it will freeze on that channel. If I have the radio on Channel 1, it will display as such. BUT, if I change the knob, the display stays the same, still displaying Channel 1. It will display the correct channel, say, if I switch over to 7 and tap scan on then off, it will go to 7, but freeze again.

Is there any way to hex the codeplug so that the RSS writes my radio as a display radio? Reading the radio works fine, but I'd like to get the display working right. Yes, this is a display/keypad case on a non display/keypad radio. Just trying to make this work if it's possible.

Did you 'modify' the RSS to reflect the case/display swap?

The non display UHF radio may still 'think' it's a non display model if you didn't change the parameters to reflect the display addition as well as enable it.

I doubt the radio will not be able to recognize the display once you set the option to enable, the radios are the same, just without the extras.
