[ Question about XTS3000 FCC and Factory ID and used Price ]

Post by n6fnp »

Hi,

I am looking at buying an UHF XTS3000 Model III HT. I
know someone who has one that they have let me check
out. It has the following specs:

Flashcode: 140004-000000-0
Q806/G806 IMBE / APCO-25 Digital Operation
H868/W969 Multikey Operation
H37/G50 Smartnet Operation

R05.51.00
DSPN06.04.11
EMC R02.12
KG1 DES-XL
KG2 DES-OFB

FCC ID: 00000
Model: H09RDH9PW7BN
Factory ID: 000000

The case is in okay condition, but not mint, There are some
small scratches on the screen and a small crack in the case
between the PTT button and button two. Also, the PTT button
works, but feels soft and does not have a click feel when
pressed.

Some questions that I have are:

What is the situation with the FCC and Factory ID's being
all "0"'s? Is this anything to be concerned about? Would
this radio be FCC type accpted?

The seller would like around $600.00 for the radio and
antenna, but no battery or charger will be included. Is
this a good price for a radio with this flash in this
condition, or should I hold off for a better deal?

Any guidance or opinions are appreciated!

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

the DSP/HOST is kinda a couple of releases old. As far as the FCC ID number
(or lack thereof)...I am assuming it's not a US model (Asian market? Central/South America prehaps?)...I had a 900MHz MTS2000 like that. It had a US model no, serial, flashcode...and had the wierd FCC ID:0000 on the tag. It was a 100 percent factory radio.

My old XTS3000 suffered from the "squishy" PTT syndrome. It still worked just fine, but was a bit annoying at times. Since the radio is secure-equipped, you could have your friend enable the Secure TX tone so you get an audible "beep" when you key up the radio.

It can also be remedied by a case swap.

N6FNP,

The radios firmware is pretty old, Don't buy it. You probabaly can get a better radio on ebay or from someone here on bablabs.

Just my 1.5 cents

Hi,

Thanks for the responses about the xts3000 radio.

Understood about the Host and DSP being old and that the radio would
benefit from a new case.

If $600.00 is too much, what would a reasonable offer be that I might
consider making to the seller?

All of my XTS's have a Factory ID of 00000, but not FCC ID

Where would I get the flash upgrade for $75.00. Would there be any possible
problem getting this done considering the "00000" FCC ID?

Also, does anyone know the cost for a new housing?

This thread is about to be locked, I can feel it.

You cannot get a legitimate HOST or DSP upgrade for $75.00. Flat rate for XTS's is over $300

Talk to panter88 on eBay, he has several XTS housings.

Thanks for all the info.

I am NOT looking for any unofficial upgrades. I thought that $75.00 seemed
a little on the low side. I am just trying to see what the cost would be to get
this radio into a decent condition, or at least what a reasonable price for it
would be in its current condition.
