High Power Motorola Spectra Installation

Post by tomskillman »

My question is this:

I recently acquired a UHF 110 Watt Motorola Spectra with A9 head. I'm wondering what the fusing should be on the power lines. I noticed that there are 3 lines that run to +12v. Anyone know what the fusing should be on each of these. The Spectra I have does not have any fuses at all. I'm just about ready to do my installation, all I need is the rating of the fuses.

This should help you -

It is avalible off the batlabs spectra page - http://www.batlabs.com/spectra.html

For the orenge and green wires off the systems 9k cable, I would fuse them at 1-2 amps. They are really there for the radio to determine if there is ignition power, and to help in the control head memory retention. I'll try and look in my service manual tommrow if I get a chance.
