PC based LTR controller?

This was an idea I thought up earlier tonight.

Does anyone know of any?

I know of a few programs that will let a PC act as a conventional repeater controller, but I haven't seen any that work for LTR.

It'd be really neat to load up a PC with a bunch of old SoundBlaster's, and let the program decode the inbound LTR data, and output the LTR control data to the transmitter on another sound card. Run the PTT lines off the parallel printer port.

I'd try to make one myself, but I'm not a programmer.

There are a couple of companies that offer something similar. Basically a box which can be flashed for a few different protocols like LTR. Everything hooks up to the box and you are good to go. I don't know if there is any standalone software like you are thinking about. It would be cool though. I could throw the software on a PIII 900 and there I go...instant LTR repeater. Sounds like it would be good for a quick setup also.

But hey...there's good news.....................I just saved a ton of money by switching to "Kenwood".

Wasn't there a post over at Hamsexy last year where a guy created his own LTR-type PC program?
