Programming computer/software question

Post by n9upc »

FIRST I am not looking for software I am just having a computer issue and need some help!!!

I have purchased a copy of the XTS software before and loaded it on to my one Toshiba laptop. I use to carry this laptop around the most but now it is starting to cause me problems.

For no reasosn at all now it will just shut off. Sometimes it will go and stay on for 10, 15, or 20 minutes, or sometimes just a minute only.

So I had to get a different laptop as no one can tell me what is wrong with it and all say it could be expensive to fix. However the problem here in lies this:

I have a new laptop that I want to put my XTS software on to and I need to know how I can get it off of my old laptop on to a jumpdrive and over to my new laptop.

I have tried just coping the folder and when I put it on the new laptop it gives me a missing some DLL. SO I go back and in between power shut downs I try and copy the other needed DLL. Then I go back and it says I need another DLL.

The file is zipped on the old laptop and that is what I tried coping over and each time it states I need a certain DLL.

So does anyone know how I can get it off my other computer with all the needed files and put it on to my new one???

The easist route would be the CD HOWEVER, since I loaded the software on to my computer I have sinced move and can not find the RSS disk and I tried looking in every place possible.

In addition I need it for the rest of this weekend and there is no way to contact or get what I need from mother /\/\ now.

So once again does anyone know???

You're pretty much screwed unless you can find the CD. Apparently, you only zipped the program folder itself. If you had copied & zipped the contents of the CD, you would be able to unzip it & run the setup installation. How old is your subscription? If it's still current, you might be able to download the latest version from MOL, or at least give Moto a call & explain your situation.

You could put your old hard drive into a external usb drive case and than it might give you more time to find the files you need.
