Programming XTS3000

When programming a 3000 can you use one personality in multiple zones and scan lists. In the scan section of the personality you can only select either none or one scan list but I didn't know if there was another way to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you... Chris

not sure I understand, you can have mutliple scan lists referencing the same personality, however on trunked modes if you are using priority monitor, you can only select valid personalities that reference that particular trunked system. You can't scan trunked and conventional modes either.


are we talking about conventional or trunked personalities or both?

My mistake I should have added that info. This would be for conventional ops. I will try to explain what I want to do and maybe that will give more info. I have 30 personalities entered in the conv. persn. section. In zone one I have all 30 personalites entered as 30 channels with 15 selected for scan list one. In zone 2 I have a specific 10 pers.( these are 10 of the person used in zone 1) selected as channels for zone 2 and I would like to be able to have them scan the 10 channels associated with that zone. Zone 3 is basically a similar situation as zone 2.
Now when you enter the personalities in the conv. pers. section there is a scan section for each personality. You can select none or a scan list number. I would like that personality to be able for all three zones and all three scan lists. I hope this has provided the info needed. Thanks. Chris

The selection in the conv personality window just tells the radio which scanlist to scan or edit, if you start scan or start editing the scanlist while you are landed on that personality (regardless of which zone it is in).

What you could do is to make sure that mode 1 in each zone is different, and assign mode 1 in each zone to be the "scan" mode. Example:

Zone 1:
Pers: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30

Zone 2:
Pers: 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20

Zone 3:
Pers: 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30

So, as you could see, if you start scan when landed on any of conv personality 01, 11 and 21, the radio will start scanning the scanlist for the zone they're in, even though Zone 1 contains conv personalities that exist in other zones.

This make sense?
