XTS3000 Batteries.... Which is the best?

Post by Alex663 »

I came across 7 or 8 different batteries for my XTS and I am trying to decide which one to get. I have and Impres charger, so I could use the features on those batteries, but I see that they dont come in NiMH (only NiCad). The NiMH have the highest mAh rating I could find, but I have heard that the LiON batteries were the longest lasting. Is that true even though the mAh is lower in the LiON? Any suggestions are welcome considering these batteries are very pricey compared to my HT1250 batteries. P.S. I dont need an intrinsically safe battery.
Thanks

A good deal of information and opinions can be found in this thread:

The IMPRES batteries are in fact available in all three chemistries.

The LiON batteries won't outlast the ginormous 3.5Ah NiMHs. However, the newest LiON impres batteries (NTN9862B) are 2.75Ah, so they're close, and they're less than half the thickness and weight.

I use to run the big NiMHs. I've since replaced everything with the impres LiONs.
