Post by saberjerk »

This may seem pretty obvious to most but will a standard saber public
service mic work on the astro digital saber? Hopefuly without frying something?
Thanks

It won't work. The non-pub safety ones will, though.

I'm not up with the model numbers but if an antenna can be screwed to the mic, it won't work.

These don't have the antenna. So I guess these should work.
Thanks a lot guys.

What radios do you own?: Progreso soup can with CRT

AS Speaker/Mic

Post by Tom in D.C. »

The speaker/mic will work fine. However, you must change the
antenna extender for the top of the radio to the reverse SMA
type as used by Motorola. If you have the part you just unscrew
the original Saber adapter and screw on the SMA adapter for the
Astro Saber antenna. If your speaker/mic is missing the thingie
that extends the antenna then you just use the same antenna
arrangement as when you're not using the speaker/mic.
