Which radio do you need it for?

You can make your own out of an old STX mic and the propper connector for the radio that you need keyloaded.

Need it for a Saber III.

Is there someone who sells one already made?

TKN8506B - $96.05 from Motorola Online.

You can find them on Ebay from time to time, but they usually go for around the same price.

You can still get the correct Hirose connector from Mouser.com and then rob the cable and connecter of an MX speaker mic.

About the only way to get a cheap one unless somebody on here has one to sell.

Checked out mouser, and searched for hirose, but had no hits.

Also, called Moto, these cables are now $180! That's a lot of change for a simple cable in my book.

Any other source for hirose connectors? Not even sure what they are.

The Hirose connector is still available from Mouser, or at least it was the last time i checked, i don't have the part number in front of me i will have to find it. I know it was posted on here a while back also. Searching for Hirose on their online catalog won't bring it up, i learned that when i needed one!

The Hirose connector is the round connector that mates with the keyload adapter you put on the back of the radio, looks like a headset adapter with a white letter "D" stamped on it, these are useable for keyloading.

Another way to make one, and i have done it, is to take a Saber speaker mic cable and remove the cable and change the contacts around in it to access the connections needed for keyloading, than solder in a MX speaker mic cable and rewire the KVL end also. Tada, custom keyload cable that doesn't need the Hirose connector or Hirose keyload adapter for the radio.

There was just some of them on eBay, i think he wanted $80 each, don't know if he sold them all since i said the heck with eBay and rarely visit it now.

Thanks for the help! If you can point me in the right direction on the hirose connector - that'd be great!

Will this mic work to cannibalize the plug from?

Nope, that's a genesis series mic, MT1000/HT600, you need the older style MX mic. Look at the side of the keyloader, you want that style of connector.

OUCH! Yep, just checked again and they are listed at $153.00! Wonder why they hiked the price up $50.00...

I think I'd try to make my own if I could find the hirose connector at mouser, digikey or something. I can't seem to locate one. I wonder if they stopped carrying them.
