There is no speed issue with the astro saber/spectra rss. I run mine on a PIII 900MHZ centrino computer. Thats old RSS you are using. TOO NEW CODEPLUG error by chance?

No, not the codeplug issue. Just will not read. I tried it on 2 computers, older P1 and a P2, neither worked, different versions of rss. I have in the past, althought I did not this time, use the same computer, and rib for the HT600 and a maxtrac and had no problem.

No clue.

I've used Astro RSS 9.05 on a 486, P1, P3 and my P4, all with no problems what so ever.

Sounds like it simply isn't connecting. Are you using a "regular" Saber cable, perhaps? The Astro Saber cable has a couple of pins swapped around compared to the regular.

Version 6 RSS is WAY OLD!!!. No you can't tell what was last used to program it. Your best bet it to get the latest version of CPS which is 5 something.
