Help with GTX Mobile 800Mhz

Post by Max »

Hi
I have a GTX Model M11UGD6CB1AN . The band split is 806-866
I need the radio to do 868Mhz for control channels.
Is there an easy way to do this?
Thank you in advance for any help !!

The radio probably already goes up to 870 MHz. The normal 800 MHz band is 806-825 transmit, 851-870 receive and talk-around transmit. If you can't program it that far up, it might be limited by the programming software.

You'd have to hex-edit it and fix the checksum. Fairly easy but it does require a hex-editing program such as Hex Workshop.

There are instructions on the web for dealing with the 900 MHz band and radios. They should also work for the 800 MHz band.

The GTX was software limited to not go above 866, as it's not a public safety approved radio. However, kcbooboo is correct in saying that you can very easily convince the RSS to program up to 870, and you will have no problems at all programming it up there. The LCS is the same radio, RF wise, and it goes up to 870 no problem.

The GTX is one of those radios that won't let you read the codeplug with an older version of software than what was last used on it. R04 is the latest version and should work on all GTX radios.

You still have to hex-edit it to extend the upper limit.
