hello,
i recently ordered one of those lion batteries from batdude (great price by the way, the thing works great). i was just wondering, before i even try to charge it i have a question. will it work on my ntn7209a jedi charger?
i know it will do nicd and nimh just fine but knowing lion is realitively new for these radios im not sure if it will do it. the charger is revision 5 by the way. i put the battery in for about a second just to see what status i would get and i got the red charging indicator, though with it being a lion battery i didnt dare leave it in there for more than that for fear of blowing up the house.
if not, (to batdude) i'd be interested in buying one of your impres chargeres

Never charge Li-Ion batteries on a charger that is not specifically for that battery. You will kill the battery, and may start a fire.nh7cy wrote:hello,

7209
NO The 7209 "shoe" charger is for NiCD and NIMH batteries ONLY.
To echo what Jim stated, you risk damage to charger, battery, and risk explosion and or fire if you charge a LION Battery in that charger.
Some of the radio control hobby websites have videos demonstrating what can happen when LION batteries are not cared for properly, the URL's escape me at the moment.

ok thanks.. thats what i figured
i was already in the market for an impres charger but i just wanted to know for future reference as i didnt have a manual or anything that stated what chemistries this charger was certified for.
and yes im aware of the dangers of lion batteries.. or any battery when improperly charged for that matter.. blowing up.. etc..
thanks again for the info

LiON Batteries
I got two batteries also.
I use a NTN8831A charger for mine.
Great charger and does not cost much on flea-bay.
