Comtegra MDC Question

Post by ski7669 »

Just a general question about the Comtegra...

In order for the MDC ID to display on the screen of the console, does it need to be programmed as an alias?? We have a comtegra, that it seems as though every other unit in our county's MDC IDs come up except for ours.

Also, if you hook a Null modem cable up to it, will it spit the MDC IDs to a Terminal program on a PC (ie HyperTerm)

Thanks!!

Our Comtegras have a MDC board installed in them. I think it was an option. In the RSS you can see what options are installed.

The display shows the four digit ID or the alias from the table.

In our city towing operation we are using MDC status and we have a printer connected. As I recall, you have to tell it what to send to the printer port.

I was playing with it a little today, if I reset the power and clear the list, some IDs show up (whether they are aliased or not) but if I pick up another portable and key it up, it does not display the MDC ID on the comtegra, but it shows fine on my HT1550 display. Unfortunatly, I do not have access to the comtegra RSS so I can not see what options are enabled. Let me know if anyone else may have input on this issue.

Thanks!

What radios do you own?: To many Motorola and Vertex

It may be possible it is a repeat ID and is in the SCROLL List. It should only display the last 3 IDS.

Yes your can have a computer log your IDS which is programmed via RSS.
