My question is about programming Astro Sabers. I recently tried to read a AS2 and the software said communication error. I am running the newest windows version of CPS for Astro Saber/XTS3000. I was using a RLN4008B RIB and a cable that I built myself. I thought it was the cable so I soldered the wires right onto the back of the AS2 and still comm error. Does this radio have to be put into a programming mode? Not sure about the RIB, it works fine on other moto radios that use the same RIB pins (1,6,15, and 4-11). Curious on everyones thoughts. I have a new RLN4008E RIB coming and possible a Smart Rib.
All I ever want to do with this AS2 is read the info from it, don't want to program it.
Thanks!!
Jamie

You soldered wires right to the radio?
Not the smartest thing to do if you did that, with very high potentional to kill some stuff there.
Are you sure you built it for the Astro Saber and not the analog saber? The pins assignments are slightly different.

Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
