Does anybody know how to create a Astro Saber codeplug?

- What radios do you own?: Too many!
You won't be able to create an Astro Saber codeplug. If the one in your radio is screwed up and you didn't save a copy of the original, then you're either going to have to wait on a kind soul to send you a codeplug that will work for you or you're going to have to send the radio to the depot.
What is your radio doing / not doing?

It's not inhibited. When a radio gets inhibited, it doesn't display anything after powerup. What does the radio do when you press the PTT? Have you tried programming a conventional channel to see if you can at least get it to transmit and receive in conventional?Kevin212 wrote:I bought a saber 3 800mhz off ebay from a surplus auction. It programs fine but keep getting the out of range indicate and no transmit or recieve. I found on a prior saber getting a fresh codeplug fixed the problem. Im thinking inhibited.

Well.... if the radio is "out of range", you may have the system control channels wrong, either way... when the radio can't find a control channel, it will not allow TX, because it's unable to RX.
If it's SmartZone and you have a switch set up for TX-Inhibit, the radio won't be able to transmit and affiliate to the site which would also cause issues of "out of range" and, obviously not transmit.

Is the radio programmed properly and legally ?? Out of range means that it cant find it's home control channel on a trucking system if I'm not mistaken.

OK maybe this will help. The system I am assigned to is a Motorola Smartnet 800 trunking system. We are in the process of switching from the MTS2000 to the XTS2500. Myself, I am a Astro Saber man. Love the Sabers. I have an Astro Saber 2 that works just fine on the system. I own the software LEGALLY bought straight form Mother M. I have experience in programming radios. Using the CPS for both the XTS and the Astro Saber most of the values were able to be copying straight over using the new drag and drop. Saber 2 took it fine and works great. Astro 3 is giving me the TX tone, not transmitting and showing out of range on the display. I dont understand it. One of the local Motorola Reps said he thought it was inhibited and needed to go to the depot. However, Im not so sure. They have very limited experience with the Astro Saber in my area. I had to show him the new software..lol. Anyway any ideas on what could be wrong??? I thought if I could get a basic generic codeplug for this model radio, it would be a start. Wiping clean with a fresh codeplug. I know the old Analog saber RSS lab had the create codeplug option, but the Astro Saber does not. Please any help would be great !!!!
When programming the control channels in as conventional I was not getting anything. I checked it with the tuner and a frequency counter and determined that the radio is TX and RX about .063 high. When I adjusted the control channels subtracting the .063 and using that result. I was able to RX the control channel sound very clear. When I try to adjust the values in the tuner, the settings will not take the result low enough to match the true value. Any Ideas??? Is there anyway to tune the radio with the software tuner without sending it to the depot???
