A few repeaters out here are running CSQ. (I know it's a bad idea to not have PL/DPL, but I'm not running them, so there's nothing I can do.) I've noticed that I get a (really irritating) squelch tail when the repeater drops. Most of the machines this happens on have nice, strong signals, so it's not an issue of dropping in and out.
Where in RSS would I look to try to eliminate this? (If it matters, I'm running Data-Operated Squelch, but it's happening whether or not any MDC IDs are transmitted.)

What I have always done for HT1000's and Sabers alike for channels with CSQ to eliminate that annoying sqlelch "KSHHHHKK" is...
Set a random TPL/DPL tone on that channel for RX...doesn't matter which one...and make sure you have a button set for Channel Opt Squelch Defeat, aKa Perm. Monitor (on my AstroSaber it's the concentric A/B switch), and for some reason when you defeat the Ch. Option PL/Tone, if there is one already set, it will make the squelch pop shorter when you enter permanent monitor.
I have no idea why, but this always worked for me.

Those repeaters are all CSQ, so it wouldn't make a difference... The turn off code works by dropping the transmitted (to the repeater) PL before dropping TX.RADIO43 wrote:fogster,
Also make sure that you have "Reverse burst/Turn-off code" check off in the "Tx option" tab under the personality screen for that channnel.

I believe its per personailty. What you can do is change it in one, but do not "enter" or "tab". Just press f4? in RSS or click on the proper tab in CPS and it will leave the cursor in the same field so you won't have to keep hunting for it.
