What's new in CPS1.04 for Astro Saber

Post by Bugs Bunny »

Was out of the office for the last week and noticed a new version of CPS/RSS for the Astro Spectra/Saber came in. Wondering if anyone knows what upgrades/fixes :wink: did Motorola incorporate in this version??

Nothing but another release for them to make more $$ with....

No seriously, I have no clue.

Sorry, but I couldn't resist...

There should be a "readme" file on the CD with all the details, as well as tips & tricks for installing/using the software on various machines. At least, there is on the previous versions.

Here is what the readme says. Doesn't look like it does much.

===============================================================================
ASTRO SABER & XTS3000 CUSTOMER PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE R01.04.00
===============================================================================
Enhancements in this Release:
------------------------------
The list size for Voting Scan has been increased from 6 to 10 members to increase
roaming capacity on a conventional system.

ASTRO CPS has added the radio type, model number and serial number to the
current status bar.

Fields added in this Release:
----------------------------------------------
"External Mic" field in the Advanced page of the Radio Wide node allows the
user to activate the external microphone, when either the microphone PTT or
the radio side button PTT is pressed.

Defect Fixes in this Release:
----------------------------------------------
When a user programs an ASTRO radio with an archive taken from a radio that
was in monitor mode, the newly programmed radio is always in monitor mode.
This issue has been fixed.

When the user creates an archive with a conventional button assigned to RAB1
or RAB2 using the DOS RSS (Radio Service Software), the same archive read by
the CPS will show this button as blank.
In this release, RAB1 and RAB2 have been added to the Conventional buttons list.

After dragging and dropping the Trunking Configuration node from a NON APCO
codeplug to a APCO 25 codeplug, the 'Very Good Threshold' field on the RSSI
Threshold page gets set to '0' instead of the correct default. This issue is
now fixed.
