What radios do you own?: Kenwood, Yaesu, ICOM, Motorola

TLE1541A Micor RF Power Amplifier

It's definitely Range 1 406 - 425 MHz. If you had the model number such as: T_4RTA, the first digit after the letter "T" would indicate the RF Power Output level.

Hi guys,

It doesnt have any other number indicated, just TLE1541A, but i am pretty sure its around 100 watts, i just dont know the exact output coz it has 8 RF transistors bolted in the heatsink.

What does "wide-spaced" means??? Sorry i'm not really familiar with the term.

Any ideas on the drive power??? Is it the same with other micor PAs driven at more or less 1 watt???

This unit was salvaged from a damaged CompaStation operating in the 460Mhz range.

Thank you.

If it was salvaged from a base station running in the 460 MHz range with a range one power amp, it's probably no wonder why it has ended up as salvage.

Just a little disparity between part numbers and frequency of operation there...

Depending upon what you want to do with this amp, you need about 1.5 watts of drive or there abouts. Power control is accomplished via the yellow wire that may still be hanging off of it on the left side. Varying the input voltage on this lead controls the controlled stage in the PA.

I too was surprised, its just that we really have no idea on its operating range. I guess we'll just have to try it out if it is still working and see if we can use it in the 430mhz range.

Thanks for all of you who replied to this post.
