XTS5000 Question
I have a model I VHF XTS5000. Can it be changed/modified/upgraded somehow to a model II or model III? If I plug in a model II display/limited keypad front will it work? If not, can something be done to make it work? While I'd like to have the additional modes offered in the model II/III I'd be happy with the original 48 modes AND a display with modes, aliases, and menus on it.
Re: XTS5000 Question
The short and unfortunate answer is no. This was an option with the XTS3000 but because there is no way to change the codeplug from a model I to a model II/III the keypad and display will not function.G wrote:I have a model I VHF XTS5000. - What radios do you own?: FPP 6 meter XTL 5K's
Re: XTS5000 Question
Yep, it's true, I too, have heard that the 5k's are hack-proof.Fuel4300 wrote:The short and unfortunate answer is no.
