Is there a Major diffrence in how long a battery should last when using the radio in P25, rather then Conv.?

I can't tell. My XTS3 K with DSP/HOST 8 with the standard 1500 nicad is about 12-14 hours of RX with very few keyups. If the radio is used with alot of talking or mode changes/affiliations, it's more like 7 to 8 hours...this is with it on an analog Smartnet II system or a P25 system. It eats batteries alot more than an MTS2000 but hey there's alot more going on inside.

You can select adaptive power on conventional P25 also.Bruce1807 wrote:If you are talking trunking absolutly as there is an auto power adaptation field which reduces the power when rx is good
On P25 conventional I dont think its an option so power drain is probably ever so slightly higher but I sort of doubt it makes any difference
Do not make Sig angry...he'll just keep ringing the bell.
