Hello all,
After reading the thread on the talk permit tone for the HT-1000, I was wondering if this would be possible for the HT-750. My Fire department responds with another department that uses a RICK to cross band to vhf low, and there is a delay on that system. My folks (and theirs for that matter) haven't mastered the art of "keyup and wait", so in an effort to give them a reminder of that wait period, I'm looking at trying to program in the talk permit tone on our 750s. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Talk permit tone for HT-750

Well, I don't think you can do a talk permit tone. However if your radios have MDC enabled, there is a way to set a delay, and a way to set a tone with it. It's not quite the same as "talk permit tone" but it will do the job. We were having problems with people waiting for the repeater to key, and cutting their conversations in half and it put an end to that!

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
i'll 2nd that, just enable mdc or a dtmf tone on keyup and turn on the sidetone and that will solve all of your problems. if you want to send me one of your codeplugs i'll change it for you and mail it back to you then all you have to do is write it back to all of your radios.

Short side tone
The HT750 is capable of the short side tone which is a beep that the user hears after the MDC1200 data burst has gone out. I use it on my agency's system and it works great. In the MDC signalling system, select pre signalling and check the box for short side tone rather than long side tone. I think this will give you the desired result.
