MTS2000 Rx Problem

Post by gatekeep »

... My MTS2000 seems to be deaf... It's a wideband radio 403-470 mhz. On the GMRS frequencies (Tx and Rx) and local fire (just Rx). By the way, it Tx's perfectly fine. Heres a clip of the noise (probably won't help): http://www.circlesoftus.org:83/~gatekeep/noise.wma . It only makes this noise on Rx...Tx works 100%.

Any ideas?

Well, based on your previous posts that you dumped a CP into it with LAB, you lost all the tuning settings, so you now need to have it re-aligned on a monitor.

Brought the radio to a /\/\ dealer, they said it needed to be sent to /\/\ $310 flat rate...didn't do it, yet. I'm curious I was under the impression *most* /\/\ dealers could do alignments guess, not. Any way of finding someone that could do it (thats local to me Suffolk, New York)?

Was this a certified MSS? If so, then they were blowing smoke up your butt and just didn't want to mess with your radio.

One of the guys here can probably align the radio for you - for a fee of course..

Didn't I mention that MTS2000s with toolproof firmware and LAB don't mix? Sure it "worked" with your work-around, but now what good did that do you? You now have a non-functioning radio with costly repeairs. I think I would've just bought the software and been done with it.

RESCUE161: I have no problem paying for an alignment, its the $310 flat-rate I would like to avoid.
