W5 ign control

Post by resqguy911 »

Is there a jumper in the W5 control head that needs to be moved to allow the radio to power up on ignition control? The radio is wired properly, but still requires a press of the power button to turn on!

I'm not the only one to have a remote mounted W5, am I?

How have you wired the ignition sense lines? Are you switching green and orange both?

I'm having a similar problem with remote-mount W7s. I'm switching orange and green, and you have to punch the button. Official Moto docs say green should be hot all the time, orange should be switched, and no jumpers should be required.

Give that a shot.
