Audio settings on XTS3000

Post by mam1081 »

One of the users of a radio system I talk on (mixed mode, conventional) seems to have an exceptionally deep voice. While talking in P25, all the radios I have listened on seem to have a hard time with the low tones of this audio. On a handheld, the audio is so low pitched, that it seems to vibrate the whole speaker assembly or distort it very badly. On a mobile, it sounds much better, but almost chops off sometimes. Other people listening on scanners have noticed that his audio is hard to understand also. This user also drives a diesel vehicle, and I think the low pitch of the engine noise while driving doesn't help either. Is there a setting somewhere in CPS that would help us with this?

His radio has R07/DSP08 firmware.

Thanks in advance...

I have seen such problems when dirt had entered the small hole for the microphone, or with a misplaced microphone capsule in its rubber holder. Maybe you should check this...
