Converting an XTS 5k M1 into a M3

Post by High_order1 »

I swear I am diligently searching, but in the meantime, can one be converted like how you all have discussed converting a 3k?

Is this an economical solution, or would it be better to suck it up and buy what I want to start with?

Sorry man, you're out of luck.

XTS5000s are pretty much unhackable, for the moment at least.

Yes, you can upgrade a 5k but it is simply not as economical because you will have to replace the vocon as well.

Well there are ways around replacing the vocon, but as I said in another post.... Consider it almost impossible for the "average Joe" to get done.

Buy a Model 2 or 3 to start with. It will be less of a headache down the road and you won't kick yourself for being stuck with a model 1.

The 5000s were never LABable (at least with anything currently "available"), and they first came out at least a year before Nick got really cranked up.
