Reading a Kenwood Tk730

I have a Kenwood TK730 with dual heads. When I go to ' read from radio', it will not read it. Do I need to disconnect one of the dual heads like on a dual head Motorola Maxtrac?

I'm no kenwood expert, but I believe there is place in the menus to select the type of radio and it will have a setting for dual heads.

Put into programming mode. Hold down the first soft key to the right of the vol/ch control, and power on. No need to disconnect head 2.

to follow up on what Jim just said, the head will say program when it is in program mode and you need to be hooked up to head 1.
