XTS3000/5000 Li-ion Battery Problem - Motorola NTN9862C

Post by rapier6360 »

:( FYI on motorola's newest 2700MAh Li-Ion Battery NTN9862C.

For use inthe XTS3000's & 5000's. The C version of the NTN9862 battery differs (at least in the two batches totaling 400 batteries that we checked) in that the magnetic attraction between the the charging pocket (WPPN4086AR) in the Motorola WPLN4079 and similar six-pack battery conditioning systems is not as strong as in all the other Motorola Li-Ion or NMH batteries or as strong as the aftermarket batteries we have tested. This means the the C version does not lock into the pockets. You have to use a rubber band or tilt up one end of the conditioner to get the batteries to make sufficient contact to allow charging and conditioning.

That's battery conditions not gang or single chargers - as per my message and the part numbers supplied. There is a magnetic attaction between the XTS pocket and the battery
