You have an incomplete RSS version! There's a versionconflict between the RSS and the *.mdf file.

Re-install the original RSS from the 2 disks...

Probably a checksum error in the file on your disk.

Do what it says: copy the original file from the distribution disk to your computer; that should fix it.

When the program reads the codeplug from the radio, it has to make sure the radio is supported. It can't tell that until it finishes reading the codeplug, then it searches for a matching model number. If it can't find one, you either are using the wrong program or have one with a corrupt file.

The other possibility, and what I think is most likely...your RSS version is too old. The RSS for the P110 was originally a "combo" that did both the GP300, and the P110. This appears to be what you are using. Later on, it was changed so the P110 had it's own RSS. I think you might have a model that the older "combo" RSS doesn't recognize, so it's telling you to re-install the "mdf" file, as that's where it has it's record of all the model numbers.

If you can get into service that means your RIB, and programming cable are in good working condition.

When you go into service mode I don't believe the software checks model numbers in the MDF file, which is why you can service your radio but can't read it. (correct me if I'm wrong guys)

As wavetar said you probably have the old software which will not work on the newer P110 radios.

The version I'm running is designed specifically for the P110, R08.00.04. I'm not sure if this is the newest, but I've never had a problem programming a P110 with it.
