HT1250/1550/CDM1550 Software

Post by Luke »

I have a CD that i attempted to back up my radio program on. I am attempting to re-install it and when I get to the zip file and click the exe file, it tells me "the application has failed to start because RUI40.dll was not found." I dont see the install file anywhere but this is the same CD i used to install the software in the first place.

Any suggestions in getting around this?

I'm not clear on what you're saying...are you installing the software from the original Motorola CD? Does it go through the entire installation procedure, and then when you go to run the CPS it gives the error?

When you say you 'backed up' the software to a CD, how did you do this? If you simply copied the contents of the installed CPS folder to the CD, you'll be missing a lot of necessary files.

Sorry that I wasnt clear. I had a friend supply me with a disk that had the software on it. I remember using this same disk to install it on another computer. It is not an original motorola CD. I only have the exe files it seems but I dont see an install file. The file is in a zip folder. I am not quite sure what happened to the install file. Unless I did not use this disk to install... i dont remember. I suppose this would answer a lot of my questions.

I've seen this problem before, not too hard to fix...

1) Purchase latest CPS from Motorola
2) Install CPS

Out of curiosity, how/why would this .dll file not be there? What could have happened to it? lol

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

you need to read the rules of this board, you have an illegal copy of the software and you probablly shouldn't go around advertising it. call motorola and get your own legal copy and it will install perfectly.

Well, it's a grey area...we know plenty of people on the board don't have legit software, but we can't police that.

Luke, you haven't come out & asked for the software, but be aware nobody here is going to help you with your problems with a pirated copy.

As such, the thread is now locked.
