XTL2500 button function change
I hate to sound stupid in my first posting but I am going nuts. I just installed our first XTL2500 VHF conventional because we can no longer get MCS2000s. I read the blank code plug and started to programm our info into that. When I went to change the functions of the control head buttons (like scan, dir, etc) I was unable to change any of the functions. I can highlite the box but nothing happens. Called Big M tech support but they were of no help. I am useing 8.00.00 CPS. I have dug arround in the programm to see if some setting in another screen changes this but no results. This is most likely just something simple but I do not know what it is and the Sergent that drives the vehicle would realy to have scan. Can anyone help.

Interesting. Motorola CPS generally won't let you assign a given function to more than one button (called dulicating a feature), but that doesn't sound like the issue.
How are all the buttons programmed at the moment? Are they all blank and you're trying to assign functions to them, or are they all programmed, and you're trying to change the functions?
If you want, PM me, and I'll take a look at the codeplug to see if there's anything obvious.

I have a feeling you're trying to assign functions to the "soft" buttons below the display? If so, you do not assign the functions in the "control head" screen...you must assign them as menu functions in the "display/menu" screen. The function name will then appear in the screen above the applicable button...just like with the MTS/XTS series portables.
