I was wondering if I have the Alpha XTS5000 CPS?

Post by Jase86 »

I have a XTS5000 mdl 2 with host version R.02.00.00 and a 123abc1234 serial number and I have CPS version A03.80.54. I was wondering if I have the correct CPS version to program this radio?
Thanks

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

with that serial number it's a parts radio and you might not want to go advertising you have it. just a suggestion. but as far as your question, the answer is going to depend on what version of cps was used last to write to the radio, if somebody used 7.00 or 8.00 then even tho it's the right cps it's not new enuf. all you can do is try to read it and see what happens, at the worst it will tell you codeplug too new, at best it will work.

ffs that serial number is not a parts radio, and they can't be programmed with anything but "special" cps (and no it's not lab)

OP appears fully informed of the story behind the software and just wants to know what version that "special" cps is.

Smoke and mirrors again folks. I have one of those radios sitting right beside me and have always been able to program it with CPS that I purchased from Motorola. No I didn't have to use some crazy "Alpha" version of software either.

I stand corrected.

Regardless, those are not parts built radios and the topic comes up like what, every month? Maybe there needs to be a sticky
