Changing startup volume in Spectra

Post by jantman »

Hello,

I have a VHF Spectra remote A5 head in my truck. I have all auxiliary equipment (radios and lights) on a ignition-controlled solenoid, so they lose power whenever the vehicle is turned off.

The initial volume setting on my Spectra is 7 or 8. Is there any way to change this to, say, 11 or 12? Does this need to be done in RSS or is there a way to do it through the radio? i.e. Service menu/test mode?

Thanks,
Jason

Change the default Volume in the RSS.

The Spectra will forget the settings for the volume, last channel (mode) selected, scan, monitor, ect on loss of power to the chassis.

Your other option is to have the main power leads connected to power all the time and set it up for ignition control via the accessory jack.

I thought of that, but it would require massive rewiring. Is there any way to change the startup volume?

Ok, thanks. I'll have to get my radio guy to bring the software and cables next time he's around.
