Help with Motorola Tone Remote Adapter

Post by Mikey »

I'm trying to get a tone remote adapter interfaced with a GM300 that has channel steer. On the Motorola tone remote adapter i have leads that say Channel steer 0 to channel steer 4 now i'm only using 4 on the channel steer pins out of the 5 coming from the Tone Adpater. I've got channel steer 0 going to the gm300 pin thats programmed as "steer 1" and and channel steer 1 from the remote going to "steer 2" on the gm300 all the way to channel steer 3 which is going to "steer 4" on the gm300. Now i get channel 1, 2, 7,8, then back to 1 again. What am i doing wrong?

You need to use all 5 channel select lines, input 1 will select channel 1 but that is where the simple stuff ends. Channels above 1 require diffrent combinatons of pins to be asserted. I think it's BCD data.

Hook up all 5 lines and see how it goes
Cause Motorola said so that's why
