T have a 100-w Syntor X low band radio with the vhf PAC that I'd like to convert to a 6-meter/2-meter cross band repeater. Is it possible? Any suggestions as to how to go about it?
Thanks,
Frank, N8WZI

- What radios do you own?: X9000, HT1550XLS, MTS2000, etc
Yes, you can do this
Yes, you can do this.
Remember, this system will ONLY be a cross band repeater. It will NOT repeat in-band, that is, within VHF or within lowband.
One thing you may wish to do is disable the sampling that the PAC-RT does to detect the portable when it starts transmitting. Look in the manual, it's not that hard to do. This gives it the functionality that the PAC-PL has. Do this unless you WANT the sampling.
You will have to recrystal the PAC-RT and realign. You will need the manual for this.
The Syntor X will do low band (6 meters) just fine. You will have to reprogram but that's not that hard.
Good luck!
