xts5000
I am having a problem with my xts5000. The battery gauge sometimes works and others it won't. All of my batteries are impress and all have been charged using my impress chargers. When the battery drains down and i put them back on the charger and take them off the gauge works again. this will continue for about an hour then it dosen't work again. is this a firmwear issue? this radio has host R05 and dsp R05.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Well with IMPRES batteries, you have about a 7 day window that the fuel gauge will show up. If the battery is not placed back into the IMPRES charger within 7 days of the last charge, the fuel gauge will go away until the next charge..
If the fuel gauge is going away after a couple hours of a charge, I would say you have a battery issue rather than a radio firmware issue.

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..
CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Yeah, that couldn't hurt then to bump it up to R09.00 and see if the problem goes away.
I have seen XTS5000's with firmware as low as R02.20 show the fuel gauge with no problem though.
I know on my 5K's with the latest firmware, when you go into the battery menu, it now shows the MA's remaining in the battery.
