Midland P25 stuff

Post by Hartley »

Hi,

I sent them an email and chewed on them a bit - got a nice reply from their sales guy - they are VERY aware that people are looking for info on the web site & not finding it..
He did send me some prelim spec sheets, but they don't have much beyond what you see in the ad. He assured me they would have the "real stuff" on their web page ASAP. Apparently, the product is not yet "out in the field" - they are planning on having it available perhaps the end of this month..:-)

Is Midland still around? The product was less than reliable. I assumes they were gone years ago?

My old FD (and most fire/ems in my county) used the mid and hi power VHF Hi band radios as mobiles and bases for years, they worked just fine. If I knew of one that had been taken care of, I'd use one today.

Their not gone at all,

They are still around and they still make Land Mobile radios.
They still make some low band equipment.

Lots of titans still being made and in service by FS and other agencies.
They also have a nice selection of VRS.

I'd have to vouch for the early 90's portables and mobiles... Forget the model numbers but we had them at work. Very reliable for us and the portables still worked after they dried out from being flushed with a fire hose.

In fact, all the mobiles (low band and UHF) are still in service. The portables were finally retired to 1250's/750's.
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
