Can someone modify a JT1000 codeplug for me?

Post by W4KRR »

I have a UHF JT1000 that is the 450-520 MHz split. I would like to see if someone could modify the codeplug for me to do a couple of things:
I would like to be able to front panel program down to 440 MHz, and also be able to front panel program without the programming key. I don't believe I have the proper version of RSS to do this, according to the info on this site.

Also, where in the RSS is the option to change the display to see the frequency and tone displayed instead of just "CH 1" or whatever?

I can read the radio, but when I try to send to the radio, I get "Workspace and Radio Software Do Not Conform!!!" and I have no indication as to what causes this. If all else fails, I can take the modified codeplug to a shop and have them put it in the radio.

Okay, everything else is worked out, but I still have just one question:

Where in the RSS (R03.02.01) is the option to change the display to see the frequency and tone displayed instead of just "CH 1" or whatever?

I don't see a special "JT1000" menu anywhere.

To change the display

Read the radio or load a codeplug
F4 Change/View Radio Codeplug Data
F3 Radio Configuration Menu
F2 System Configuration
F3 JT1000 Options
Change your setting in "Display Format". Either Freq/Squelch Code or Channel Number

Okay, thanks! (I could have sworn that option wasn't there before... :o )
