XTS5000 Channel/Volume Knob Assembly Case Transfer -PLS Help

Post by n6fnp »

I have a new case for my XTS5000 model 3 and need to
transfer the channel/volume knob assembly from the
old case to the new one.

I was able to get the volume knob to come off (with some
effort), but have not been successful with the channel
knob, and don't want to risk breaking it.

If anyone can give me some help on this, it would be
very much appreciated!

Try using your teeth. Just make sure you QTip it with alcohol before proceeding if you're worried about germs or dirt or other good stuff 8)

Thanks for the replys. I have seen Batdude's guide and agree
that it is an excellent document.

I looked over page 36, but it doesn't quite answer how to
remove the channel knob from the insert retainer. I have
tried simply pulling on the knob with no luck. I have also
tried prying it up with a small screw driver placed under
the channel number flange, but am concerned that it might
break if I force it too much.

What am I missing?
