Black Radius Mic's on a maxtrac 800
I have a bunch of Radius Mic's, the black ones with the little LED in them, Will these work on an old Maxtrac 800 Radio?
Thank You,
Robert

i've got those same mic's on 2 of my x9000's and they work great there too. and they look better than the big white ones.

The only low mod issue I've seen with the black mic is leaving the mic plugged into a (mobile) base unit WITH a local remote. Unlike other mics, there is a B+ feed bypassing the black mic's PTT switch (check the mic schematic). Drags down Mic Hi voltage resulting in low TX audio locally and from the remote. Solution is fortunately simple. Just use a plug in the mic jack jumpered for PL.RadioSouth wrote:Yes, but there's a known issue of somewhat low audio when using one of those LED mic's. on a radio not intended for them.
