MT1000: can read but can't write.

Post by KE7DZZ »

I recently acquired an MT1000 16ch UHF that I can read, but I get serial bus access error 001 when I try to write to it. Usually when I get that error I can't read the radio in the first place. Just for the record, I have a few other MT1000s as well as HT600s, and I tested my RIB and cable to assure myself all was functional on that end.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Past experience with the same issue I have found the computer to be too fast. I can read all sorts of MT1000's but then found one I couldn't. I switched to the older computer and it worked fine.

I'd clean the contacts first, no matter how good they look. Alcohol on a cotton swab seems to do the trick for me.

I cleaned the contacts-nfg. I changed the model number-nfg. I put the controller in a known good radio-nfg. Controller is defective.
Fortunately I had another controller, all is good now.

Thanks for all of the help, I love this forum!
