[Where can I buy PRO7550 CPS]
I'm looking for the PRO7550 Privacy Plus CPS. I'm NOT looking for someone to send it, rather, I just need to know what version/kit number I would need. Nobody I've asked seems to know anything about it.
Thanks!

you're gonna need to look south of the border, those radios are the latin american versions and along with that, so is the cps so motorola won't sell it to you up here.

I'm not concerned with where I can get it, I have a Latin America hookup, so that's not a problem.
I just need to know what part number/CPS version I'm looking for.
I had my Latin America friend look it up, but he told me there's 4 different versions listed as "Professional Series Trunking CPS". I want to make sure we're getting the right one before I go spending any money.

Wow, awesome thanks Scott, great hack!
Unfortunatly, CPS is telling me the PRO7550 is an unsupported model. This is an 800MHz Privacy Plus radio. Someone told me I need to get Pro Trunking CPS which I don't have.
I would take a guess and say I could use the MTX8250 CPS and do that region hack, but that's just a guess.

Okay, so I got my hands on the "Motorola Professional Radio CPS" Version R02.00.00, Kit number HVN9067. This works on the MTX8250. When I try to read the 7550 it says it is not supported by this CPS.
Soo.....is there a way to hack this so it will read the 7550? Or can someone tell me what CPS it is I should be looking for?

Can you give direct link or copy/pase info here?
And what you offer me? Change region code in PRO7550/7650 radio to AA and try to porogramme it with MTX8250 software?

Thanks!Andreas wrote:Search for the first 01E1 string in the upgradetool.exe.
When you found this,go back from this point to the first 0F84 string and edit it to OF85.After this is done you have the half labtool.
Run the program and set the regionalcode.
Andreas
No matter for which region designed UpgradeTool.exe? I have only EMEA UpgradeTool.exe.
And may be you mean 0F85, not a OF85?

Jeff,
I have version 2.00.02 of the privacy plus trunked radio software (fresh from MOL). I just received a pro7550 from a customer that is leaving for south america at the end of the week. Was hoping to get the reg hack for it. Thanks, fatBoy.

Andreas,
I dont want to set the region to AA because the customer is going out of the country and may need service in LA land. What about setting it to AA, then programming it, then setting it back to LA? I think this may work. Hope fully they dont have toolproofing on the newer waris. Thanks, FatBoy.
