Systems Saber question

Post by NCSHP311 »

I have a systems saber model 3 in VHF, when I power it on everything works fine until I key the PTT button. When I push it the radio goes into monitor mode, it does this every time I go to key up.....any ideas as to what is wrong and what it would cost to fix????

You didn't swap frames or flexes with a non-System Saber, did you? The flexes are NOT the same, and if you put a flex (the ribbon cable that's glued to the frame, has the side button contacts on it, and connects to the channel and volume on/off knobs) from a regular analog Saber on a System Saber it will do what you're describing. The channel selector won't work right, either; it'll select channels out of order or offset by one.
