Waris Programming/Service cable

Post by NSPD »

I have just gotten an OEM Waris programming/service cable. This is probably a dumb question, but i'm not exactly sure how to hook it up.

The cable has a male 25-pin connector that terminates to two cables, one with a female 25-pin, and one with the Waris accessory connector. The male 25-pin obviously doesn't connect to my RIB box, so I assume I connect the female 25-pin to the RIB, and then the accessory connector to the radio, leaving the center male 25-pin unconnected, right?

Thanks!

Correct. If you had the service box, the other 25 pin would connect to that.

Works that way on mine.

Sometimes some data leaks out and winds up all over the desk, so be careful!

Well, I'm not totaly sure what the other connector is for but the cable works just fine as you describe!

Thanks guys!

It seemed pretty obvious but I figured I would ask before I proceeded to brick my radio.
