Problem with BMS plus

Post by RMW »

Hello,

I've got a problem with my BMS plus.

If I switch it on, place a battery in the cup and press for instance the condition button the BMS doesn't respond.
Nor does it respond to any other key that is pressed.
It simply starts to charge the battery after a few seconds.

I've checked the key foil and that isn't the problem.

Is anyone familiair with this problem and maybe has a fix for it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Robert

BMS

Post by Hartley »

Hello Robert,

I have just a BMS (no plus), but I find you have to wait until the battery is beginning to be charged (the voltage numbers have appeared and are beginning to increase) before pressing the buttons has an effect. If you wait too long, they are also inoperative.

Hello Hartley,

Thanks for your response.

I tried it, but it didn't work.

The former owner told me that it was send out to be repaired some time ago. After the repair it worked for a period of time. But then it had the same problem as I have now. They had it in storage since then.

Strange thing is, that when I got it, it worked for a couple of weeks...
It seems that if the power cable is unplugged for long enough (months) it works for while.

Regards,
Robert.

FYI, they are made by a company called iTECH. I've sent a few to them over the years for repair:
