Looking at aftermarket antennas for analog sabers, and see this note...

Maybe the washer is to keep the antenna from threading in too far and colapsing the skirt on the antenna....

Nice antenna by the way.

The SMA antenna on my Nextel R750 has a small metal washer around the threads. All the washers I've seen have been slightly bent- to keep the antenna tight without pushing down on the skirt.

I've clipped the washer off to use an 800 ant. on my XTS with no problems. Lemme see if I can dig up a picture.

I had one of those on my saber. It worked fine. Other than tickling my armpit it worked good...
