XTS5000 IMPRES battery

Post by Mfire39 »

Has anyone ever seen the IMPRES battery fuel gauge on a 5K last for more than the 7 days that it's rated for?

I have a 5K Mod 3 over here with 8.00.10 firm, and a very recent 9862 IMPRES battery on it that has not seen a charger in about a month. The radio still displays a fuel gauge.. When I take that battery and place it on another 5K with 8.00.00 firm, it wont display the gauge, indicating that it hasn't seen a charger in a while.

I'm not complaining, I wish the fuel gauge would stay on all the time on my other 5K's. Any thoughts as to why it's not loosing it's gauge after 7 days??

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

The CPS tuner has a battery calibration soft pot which may be worth looking at that setting. We here also had problems with the battery gauge not showing at all on some xts5.k - due to the battery not charged a certain way or in an impress charger.
