GM300 and Maxtrac Service manuals NLA

Post by 486dx4 »

Hi,

I tried purchasing a GM300 service manual with part number 6880902Z32 and I am told that the manual is NLA - meaning I guess that there are no more left and no more will be printed. I'm just curious if that is true or that more will possibly get printed in the future.

I was also looking for the maxtrac service manual as well with part number 6880102W84. Does anyone know if that is NLA as well before I attempt to order one?

Thanks....

Better start looking on Ebay for the manuals. These are very
old radios and are not longer supported by Motorola. You
are seeing the new wave of Motorola trying to flush their
market for only the new radios.

How do you expect them to make any money supporting
all these old well built radios. If they don't break, no one
will buy parts. If they don't break they can't sell new radios.

So the only way to stay ahead is to stop supporting a
radio more than a couple of years old.

I do realize that this is old/obsolete equipment and there is a limit on how long one supports something but I wanted to indeed confirm that these items were truly NLA or not (someone who has an MOL account, etc.). The GM300 manual supposedly is and I was asking about the Maxtrac.

look at Microsoft - if the OS is over say 6-7 years old you are out of luck so the fact that Motorola has been supplying parts for this for almost 20 years in some cases is a good thing.

Both part numbers show on MOL as "Item has been cancelled"
