Cloning CDM?
Hello,
Our PD has about 35 CDM1250's that they want redone ( Channels Added,Deleted, Officer Names instead of ID:???? and so on ).
Is there anyway and faster way of doing it other than reading every radio and then doing each one then writing to it.
I guess what I'm asking is there a way to do it like Kenwoods?
Read one radio and write to same model ( Alot faster and easier way )

I've never had a firmware version issue. I haven't actually looked at that, but I doubt they've all been the same. As long as they are the same model, you can make one and use that nice clone function.
Your question marks by the officer names say you are confused by that? Under call list, you can input the other radio's MDC ID's and give them aliases. When the radio decodes a PTT ID, it will dispay the alias instead of the ID number. This is for the "Display decoded ID" under MDC1200 RX signalling.
Example, instead of it showing
ID: 5015
It will show:
BOB SMITH

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

I have had a problem cloning the same model CDM 1250. The early batch we purchased will not clone to the ones we purchased 3 years later. wound up moving some radios around so that all our Fire and Rescue trucks have the early radios and all program with 1 codeplug. The other radios are now in EMS, Supervisors and Maintenance vehicles where just about all the code plugs are unique any way.
Also have the same problem with Minitor 5's but that is the least of my problems with them!!!!!!!!!!

Cause Motorola said so that's why
i've never seen this in my life... am i missing something... what ver of the software is this occuring on? this is the CDM/HT CPS???mr.syntrx wrote:If their model numbers all match, just read one radio, make the changes, and use the CPS clone function to write to the rest. When it's about to write, it'll prompt you for the MDC ID to use for that radio.
Sorry - confused myself with the ASTRO CPS. (I rarely have anything to do with Waris gear.)libuff wrote:i've never seen this in my life... am i missing something... what ver of the software is this occuring on? this is the CDM/HT CPS???mr.syntrx wrote:If their model numbers all match, just read one radio, make the changes, and use the CPS clone function to write to the rest. Waris CPS doesn't specifically prompt you for MDC IDs etc as far as I can see, like the ASTRO clone function does. You should be able to just change the ID as normal and write though.
